The Story of EPC Coach

Scott MacBean, founder

EPC Coach was founded by Scott MacBean on one simple idea: performance doesn't just depend on talent or effort — it depends on emotional stability. Give people a way to measure and steady it, and the rest follows.

Before EPC, Scott was running multiple businesses and supporting his family — carrying a constant emotional load with no clear way to manage it. He wasn't struggling, but his emotional performance wasn't consistent, and he had no system to understand why.

Then came the turning point:

Emotional performance isn't about how you feel — it's about how you function under pressure.

Scott started building a simple structure for himself: a baseline, pressure tags, stabilising actions, and a weekly review. It worked immediately. His stability improved, his reactions became cleaner, and his performance became consistent. The people around him noticed the change before he even explained it.

When he tested the system with individuals, families and schools, the same pattern appeared every time: clarity → stability → action. That's when EPC became more than an idea — it became a working emotional-performance system.

Scott kept seeing that pattern everywhere, in workplaces, classrooms and teams: capable people running at a fraction of what they can do, not because they lacked motivation or skill, but because the pressure they were under had nowhere structured to go. Most answers on offer were either clinical, vague, or overwhelming. None of them treated emotional performance as something you could actually measure and train.

People aren't broken — they're overloaded.

So EPC was built to change that, on three principles:

  • Measure it — a clear Stability Score, not a vague feeling
  • Make it simple — a structured daily practice, not another app to manage
  • Keep it non-clinical — coaching for performance, never diagnosis or therapy

The heart of the system is the EPC Scan: a few minutes that turn how someone is running into a clear picture — their stability level, their strongest and weakest areas, and one focused action to work on next. From there, daily tracking, stabilisation techniques, performance frameworks and 1-to-1 coaching do what no pep talk can: they make stability a habit.

Today EPC Coach is a complete emotional-performance system used by:

  • individuals who want to perform steadily under pressure
  • schools and education boards supporting whole staff teams
  • organisations and governments who need their people resilient

Scott's mission is unchanged: make emotional performance clear, structured, and accessible to everyone.
